AVIATION LAW FOR AIRLINES OPERATING IN THE CZECH REPUBLIC
I provide Czech legal advice and representation to airlines, combining dispute resolution with regulatory, commercial and technology-related support.
My experience includes long-term work in data protection and cybersecurity governance at Smartwings and Czech Airlines. I bring that airline-sector perspective to the assessment of legal risks, the preparation of defence strategies and ongoing external-counsel support.
My aviation practice is carrier-side. I do not represent passengers pursuing claims against airlines.
I represent airlines before Czech courts in passenger claims under Regulation (EC) No 261/2004, commercial disputes and related litigation. I assess the evidence, procedural position and commercial implications to recommend a proportionate defence or settlement strategy. For foreign carriers, I act as Czech local counsel in individual cases and recurring disputes.
I advise on Czech and EU regulatory requirements affecting airline operations. My support includes compliance assessments, communication with Czech authorities and representation in regulatory proceedings. I focus on the practical implications for the carrier and the legal risks that may require further action.
Information security has become an integral part of aviation regulation and operational resilience. My experience includes senior-level involvement in airline cybersecurity governance, information security management, business impact analysis, continuity and recovery planning and incident-management processes.
I advise aviation organisations on the interaction between EASA Part-IS, NIS2, cybersecurity regulation, supplier risk, incident reporting and internal governance. This allows regulatory requirements to be assessed not merely as formal compliance obligations, but in the context of actual airline operations.
Since 2018, I have worked directly with data protection within the airline sector. I advise on GDPR compliance, passenger and customer data, DPIAs, data processing arrangements, international transfers, security incidents, supervisory authority proceedings and privacy governance.
Airline data protection frequently overlaps with cybersecurity, operational systems and regulatory obligations. I therefore approach privacy issues within their wider operational context.
Airline operations depend on a complex network of contractual relationships with suppliers, technology providers, agents and other commercial partners. I assist with contract negotiation, legal risk assessment, contractual disputes and enforcement.
Where a commercial disagreement affects ongoing operations, the priority is to determine quickly whether the relationship should be preserved, renegotiated or enforced.
Foreign airlines operating to or from the Czech Republic may require local legal support without maintaining a permanent Czech legal team. I can act as Czech external counsel for individual matters, recurring litigation or ongoing legal and compliance support.
